Description
Located on Front Street by the Lake in Boiling Springs is this circa 1869 Victorian Home, which is one of the first homes in Boiling springs. The village is laced with history dating back to the 1700\'s. The iron industry was the main reason for its growth. The Carlisle Iron Works, one of the earliest blast furnaces in Pennsylvania was located near the springs. The remains of the original blast furnace still stands in the public park. The village has many handsome homes, some fronting on the lake. In 1984, Boiling Springs was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The area is alive with activities. The lake and the crystal clear Yellow Breeches creek are well stocked and are considered some of the best trout fishing areas in the country. The nearby Yellow Breeches Fly Shop handles fishing gear, locally tied flys, clothing and gifts as well as dispensing experienced tips for the novice or practiced fisherman.
