Description
Lots of room to roam and to play on with. Guests have use of a two person sit-on-top kayak, row boat and pedal boat. Fish out front in Portage Lake where there are Northern Pike, Bass, Perch. Walleye and Lake Trout. You're almost guaranteed to at least get some perch with a worm - great memories for your children. There's also a private pond stocked with Rainbow Trout and Bluegill. You'll see plenty of wildlife and the stars are fantastic at night. The Northern Lights can be breathtaking while sitting around the evening campfire.
Newly constructed (2006) guest suite has easy level access with no stairs. The place stays naturally cool in summer and has ceramic tile floors with in-floor heat for those chilly days. The view from each room looks out onto unspoiled waterfront.
In any season, it's fun to just take a drive and enjoy the scenic beauty and rich history of the Keweenaw Peninsula. In the Fall the colors are breathtaking and in winter, there are several great cross country ski trails and snowmobilers have hundreds of miles of trails to explore. The UP was recently listed as #10 in a list of top summer destinations in the world.
