Nebraska

The Oregon Trail tracks the Platte River
and I-80 throughout almost the entire state of Nebraska.
The interstate has some rest stops and beautiful scenery
along the way but as with any state, in order to really
see and enjoy the state, visitors need to get off the
major highway and on the side roads. The state's landscape
includes rolling hills, sandhills, high plains, buttes
and the very interesting landscape of Toadstool Geological
Park. Chimney Rock National Monument and Scotts Bluff
National Monument helped guide travelers along the Oregon
Trail and are a must see for visitors to this area.
The state parks are open during the entire
year and offer a very wide range of activities visitors
can enjoy. At these parks, you can sit by and watch the
world go by or try to set the record for doing the most
things

in one day. The parks cater to every type of interest
and every type of person. There are numerous lakes within
the state parks that provide even more opportunity to
enjoy this state.
Omaha is perhaps the cultural center of Nebraska with
its opera company, symphony, ballet and live theaters.
The state capital, Lincoln, rises high above the plains
and is considered as a modern architectural wonder. These
two cities are full of museums and historical houses that
are both fun and interesting to tour.
